Why does Phantom (or an 'unknown' wallet) pop up instead of my MetaMask when I connect? Is it a scam?

This is not a scam. It happens when you have more than one wallet extension installed (e.g. MetaMask + Phantom). The Pad supports multiple networks, so it may default to Phantom when both are present.
- When the Phantom popup appears, go ahead and continue — shortly after you should get a second prompt asking to continue with MetaMask. Choose that, as long as you're connecting via the EVM path and not Solana.
- If it keeps defaulting to the wrong wallet, use a separate browser (e.g. Brave) with only MetaMask installed to avoid the extension conflict.
