No. You can participate and earn Buzz Points without staking.
Staking $CGPT is optional, but it provides two advantages: it gives you eligibility for the Staker Pool (additional rewards in Buzzdrops without even buzzing), and it can increase your Buzz Points multiplier, helping you climb the leaderboard faster.
